WHAT TYPES OF THERAPY DO YOU PROVIDE?

Although there are a variety of potentially helpful therapies, I am trained and provide evidence-based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT).

These proven therapies aim to provide clients with noticeable symptom reduction and enhanced quality of life in a relatively short amount of time.  These are active, practical and engaged forms of therapy--which focus on making positive changes in one's current life.

HOW DO YOU KNOW IF THERAPY IS WORKING FOR YOU?

RULE!

Always be evaluating your progress in therapy

Be asking questions such as:

  • Is your life changing for the better?
  • Are you meeting the goals you and your therapist have set?
  • Is therapy challenging you?
  • Do you feel like you’re starting to understand yourself better?

My philosophy and treatment approach

My philosophy is of utilizing evidence-based interventions in working with you. By doing so, my work is based upon providing skills and tools that have been proven to be effective. As a therapist, I will collaboratively set measurable treatment goals with you and we will periodically check in on progress towards these goals.

What is the treatment duration?

The length of treatment is variable and dependent on multiple factors.  It often depends on the issues that one brings to therapy and one's progress in treatment. We will set treatment goals together and discuss treatment expectations at the beginning of my work with you.  Typically, session duration may last from 16 to 20 sessions (4-5 months), sometimes it may be shorter and other times it may be longer in duration.

After getting to better understand you and the issues you are wanting to work on, I can discuss an estimate of the duration of treatment with you.  This is not an guarantee and may change (to either a shorter or longer duration) during the course of treatment.
